Need some help with Recommendations of Fictions Book, Please!

Hello everyone!

I hope everyone had a nice and enjoyable Christmas and in England at the moment, it is New Year’s Eve, so I hope that everyone has a lovely evening and has fun with their loved ones welcoming in the new year!

In 2018, the large majority of the books that I had read over the year were historical nonfiction and historical fiction books (as they are my favourite genres) as I love everything to do with history. However, on Instagram and on here, I notice some really good fiction books that catch my eye, but then I always forget the name and don’t bother to search for it. I want to try and read some more fiction books that are out of my normal selection, but I don’t know where to start.

This is why I NEED YOUR HELP!

I want to start reading some more general fiction books, but I want to read more Fantasy books and more Young Adult fiction books.

I currently own the Harry Potter books; theΒ Hobbit and the whole Lord of the Rings collection; all of the Outlander books; The Children of Jocasta by Natalie Haynes; The Hunger Games series by Suzanne Collins;Β The Court of Thorns and Roses books; The Throne of Glass books; The Lunar Chronicles Books and the Ember Quartet series by Sabaa Tahir.

However, I want you lovely people to recommend me some good young fiction books and some good fantasy books that you have either read or want to read yourself!
I don’t mind if you recommend any books other than young adult or fantasy books, more book recommendations, the better!

I would very much appreciate it!

  1. Perhaps The Hunger Games? That’s a but dystopian, but I plan on reading it this year, and it is kind of the same thing. Also, George MacDonald, from whom Lewis and Tolkien received inspiration, wrote some great fantasy stories, notably, The Princess and the Goblin. Hope these help!!

  2. I second the Dresden Files by Jim Butcher. Less YA but still very good especially if you’re a Harry Potter fan. Few other suggestions: The Hazelwood by Melissa Albert or The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo for single reads. I read both in one day, the second one is less YA but oh so good. All Souls trilogy by Deborah Harkness, highly recommend, and it’s a historical-fantasy novel.

    • Okay cool! I’ve seen so much about The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo but wasn’t too sure, but I’ll check it out! I’ve also heard about The Hazelwood and the All Souls Trilogy so I’ll go and check them out! Thankyou so much for the recommendations! πŸ™‚

  3. The mistborn series by Brandon Sanderson blew me away and changed how I think of fantasy, and it’s written like ya. If you like it he has other series that are more epic fantasy, all which have become fav of mine
